Hsinchu, February 21, 2025 — S&P Global, an international credit rating agency, has announced the Sustainability Yearbook 2025. WNC has placed in the Top 1% category for the second consecutive year as well as again receiving the highest score in the Communications Equipment industry. In addition, WNC was recognized as an Industry Mover this year, in honor of its score improvement of more than 5% compared to last year. This significant progress demonstrates our commitment to becoming a leading international sustainable enterprise.

Every year, S&P Global publishes its Sustainability Yearbook, listing the top 10% companies based on each company’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) score of the previous year. The Yearbook is an authoritative source of information for investors in the global capital market to assess a company’s sustainability performance. In 2024, 7,690 companies from 62 industries around the globe participated in the CSA assessment, among which 776 earned a place in the Sustainability Yearbook. In the Communications Equipment industry to which WNC belongs, 54 companies participated in the assessment and only five were selected for inclusion in the Yearbook.

WNC has accelerated its low-carbon transition and green product design processes to strike a balance among corporate responsibility, sustainability and financial growth. We have incorporated ESG in our strategies for developing technologies and products in the automotive, network communications and smart home fields. Based on SBTi standards, WNC is committed to reducing 42% of Scope 1 and 2 emissions and 25% of Scope 3 emissions by 2030 (base year: 2022 and 2023 respectively) and reaching net zero by 2050. Moreover, WNC is devoted to achieving 100% renewable energy use by 2040 based on the RE100 initiative. Internally, we strive to create an inclusive workplace employees can feel safe in. Externally, we have implemented initiatives supporting education in rural areas and smallholder farmers, and we are also running two forestry conservation projects. In corporate governance, WNC has established a sustainable governance framework, and elevated the Sustainable Development Committee to directly report to the Board of Directors, improving the Board’s sustainability governance. We have also optimized our sustainable supply chain management and collaborated with suppliers to create more environmentally-friendly products and services.

WNC will continue its efforts in pursuing sustainability, expand its influence in sustainability-related matters, and work alongside stakeholders to pursue additional sustainability goals to create a sustainable and prosperous future.
